One of those bouts was essentially confirmed this past Saturday, and will see Japanese Middleweight champion Hikaru Nishida (17-8-1, 8) [西田 光] take on mandatory challenger Kazuto Takesako (7-0, 7) [竹迫司登]. The bout pits one of the toughest and naturally strongest Japanese champions against one of the heaviest handed domestic fighters, in what should be a really thrilling fight and a genuine domestic fight of the year contender.
The other bout was a Japanese Flyweight title fight, which will see Masayuki Kuroda (28-7-3, 16) [黒田 雅之], who actually defended his title today, taking on his mandatory challenger Katsunori Nagamine (14-1-1, 10) [長嶺克則]. This should be another thrilling bout, with Nagamine taking a huge step up in class for his first title fight, and Kuroda taking on a really brutal puncher. Given Nagamine's consistently fun fights we're expecting something very fun here.
The card, which will be promoted by Kawasaki Nitta, will take place at the Korakuen Hall and will be part of the Champion Carnival.
