Fast rising Flyweight hopeful Iwan Zoda (11-1, 10) will return to the ring on November 18th to defend his IBF Youth Flyweight title against once beaten Filipino challenger Jeronil Borres (7-1-1, 5).
Zoda, who won the title earlier this year with a dominant stoppage win against Hungarian Szilveszter Kanalas in April, will be making the first defense of the title, though has stayed busy with two non-title fights including a stoppage win against veteran Kaichon Sor Vorapin/Kajornsak Pothang. This will be his 5th bout of the year and, on paper at least, be one of his stiffest tests.
Borres on the other hand is an unheralded Filipino recently stepped up in class but came up short in a bout for the OPBF Silver Flyweight title, pushing Richard Claveras close in an major step up. Aside from his bout with Claveras there is little of note on his record. Saying that however he did fight to a draw last year with the then unbeaten Salatiel Amit.
The bout, set to take place in Jakarta, has been confirmed by Zoda's team and could be a really good test for Zoda, who has his way with opponents since avenging his sole defeat to Petchchorhae Kokietgym, and has scarcely lost a round in his last 4 bouts.
