At the weigh in today for the bout both fighters made weight with no real issues.
Ishii, the taller and naturally bigger looking man, was bang on the divisional limit of 130lbs and looked strong and in great shape for what he will see as a potentially career defining contest. He comes into this bout with some inconsistent form, but will know that a win will be a huge boost to his career.
Sanpei, who hasn't fought in 10 months, was around 129.75lbs, making the weight with ease, but he was towered over by his foe. He comes into this bout after 4 losses in his last 5 and really cannot afford another set if he's to keep his career alive going forward. It is however worth noting that he was the 2013 Rookie of the Year and is clearly a talented fighter, even if his current run is less than great.
The fight will be available on boxingraise on tape delay and should be a worth while watch, even if the bout doesn't look amazing on paper.
