Tomorrow fans in Tokyo will get the chance to see a WBO Atomweight title fight as veteran champion Nao Ikeyama (17-3-1, 4) [池山直] faces determined challenger Saemi Hanagata (12-6-2, 6) [花形 冴美] in what looks set to be an action packed war.
Today the two women weighed in for the bout and both made weight.
On the scales the challenger was the heavier fighter, coming in at a smidge over 101.5lbs, well under the limit of 102lbs. She looked in great shape though it should be noted that this is her lightest weight in almost 3 years and sees her fighting at Atomweight just 16 months after a title challenger at 108lbs.
As for the 46 year old champion, she was well under the limit coming in at 100.5lbs, more than a full 1lb below the limit.
For fans interested in watching this one, it will aired in July on Sky A in Japan.
