The bout in question will see China's popular slugger Ik Yang (17-0-0-1, 12) fighting against Thai veteran Fahsai Sakkreerin (41-5-1, 22) in a contest for the IBF Pan Pacific Light Welterweight title. This will be Yang's first Light Welterweight title bout though comes at a weight that he has fought through out his career and a weight he made bang on at the weigh-in coming in at 140lbs exactly. Sakkreerin on the other hand came in under the limit at 137lbs, which we believe is a career high.
For Yang this will be his second successive bout in Shanghai having previously stopped Sukkasem Kietyongyuth in 8 rounds. As for Sakkreerin this will be his first bout in China, unfortunately for him however he has lost his last 3 fights on the road including an opening round defeat to Nakamura.
In the other title fight fans will see Ma Yi Ming (11-5, 7) battle against Indonesian veteran Tommy Seran (24-3, 15) for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific Light Flyweight title. Ming is riding a brilliant 8 fight winning stream coming into this bout and will be expecting to extend that run here whilst Seran has lost 2 of his last 3.
Ming came in at 107lb for the fight notably heavier than the Indonesian fighter who was 105lbs on the scales.
