Earlier today Japanese prospect Genki Hanai (6-0, 4) [華井 玄樹] was in action in his 4th successive 8 rounder. The talented Japanese youngster, who has been tipped for big things from his debut, continued his unbeaten run with a decision win over the more experienced Il Che (7-11-5, 1) [諸 一宇].
The bout was a viewed as a potential warm up bout for Hanai before a possible title fight later in the year.
From reports online the bout was an action packed one and that it was "fierce" however Hanai's own view on the bout was that it was "pathetic", suggesting his performance wasn't up to the standard the he expected.
Now it seems likely that Hanai will be moved towards a title bout in the near future, though thee is some questions as to whether it will be at 105lbs or 108lbs, with today's bout taking place at a little bit over 109lbs. So far Hanai has bounced around between 107lbs and 110lbs though he is ranked at 105lbs and it's likely that he could make the weight if a title opportunity was offered.
