The Olympic boxing progressed today with the last of the semi-final bouts.
It wasn't a great day for Asian women with two Asian females falling in the 75KG semi finals. One of those was Kazakh Dariga Shakimova, who was beaten by 2012 gold medal winner Clarissa Shields. Chinese fighter Li Qian also came up short, losing a split decision to Holland's Nouchka Fontijn.
An Asian female also came up short in the 60KG final with Yin Junhua losing in the final to Estelle Mosselly of France.
Whilst it was a bad day for the women it wasn't so bad for the men. We saw Shahobiddin Zoirov, or Uzbekistan, move into the final of the 52KG division, with a win over Joel Finol of Venezuela. Zoirov will face Russian star Misha Aloyan, who defeated Hu Jianguan.
At 64KG's we'll see an all-Asian final. One of the finalists will be Uzbek fighter Fazliddin Gaibnazarov, who scored a split decision win over Russian Vitaliy Dunaytsev, whilst the other will be outstanding Azeri Lorenzo Sotomayor who took a decision over German Artem Harutyunyan.
Unfortunately at Super Heavyweight Ivan Dychko came up short in his semi-final bout, losing to Great Britain's Joe Joyce.
