The fight will take place in Japan, something that seemed obvious when Japanese promoter Teiken won the purse bid for the bout. It now seems almost certain that the venue will be the famous Korakuen Hall, the holy ground of Japanese boxing. This is great news for Iwasa who has fought 16 of his 19 career bouts at the venue. For Perales this will be his first bout in Asia, though he does have international experience having previous fought in the UK and in Mexico.
As for the date the bout has been penciled in for February 18th though from what we've heard the date isn't yet set in stone, though our source was 99% sure that the bout would go ahead on that date. If that date is confirmed it would mean Iwasa will have spent 5 months out of the ring, following his win over Rommy Wassar whilst Perales will be fighting exactly 10 months after his 10th round TKO over Raul Martinez this past April.
For now the under-card isn't known though there is a strong chance that it will feature a number of Iwasa's stablemates from the Celes gym who have shown some promise this year even if they've not had the best of years.
