In a few hours we'll see Yoshihiro Kamegai (27-3-2, 24) [亀海喜寛] battle against Puerto Rican icon Miguel Cotto (40-5, 33) for the WBO Light Middleweight title. The bout, in Carson, California, has been over-looked by many but does promise to be a genuine thriller between fighters who should gel in the ring.
Cotto, a 4-weight world champion, is the more well known man and is strongly favoured by the bookies, who have him as a 1/4 betting favourite to win the contest. As for Kamegai the odds for the Japanese fighter are an attractive 4/1 whilst the draw is avilable at 25/1.
As for the method of victory the clear favourite result is a decsion for Cotto, at evens, whilst a Cotto stoppage is availavle at 9/4. For Kamegai to claim a decision is 8/1 whilst a stoppage win for Kamegai is a huge 10/1.
The "over-under" for the bout has been set at 9.5 rounds, with the under set at 12/5 and the over at 7/17.
