Former Japanese and OPBF Light Middleweight champion Charlie Ota (24-1-1, 16) arrived earlier today in New York where he will be putting the final touches to his preparation ahead of his fight with the unbeaten Jermell Charlo (23-0, 11).
Ota, who will be fighting Charlo in Canada, knows that this is potentially the toughest bout of his career but it's also, potentially, the one with the biggest reward and a victory over Charlo would see Ota moving to within a fight or two of a world title bout.
With just a week to the fight Ota will be adapting to the change in time zone and making sure he's prepared for the weight. The actual training and game plan will be all but sorted but this week will still be a major one for Ota who will be fully aware of just how important this bout is.
Good luck Charlie!
