As every boxing should be aware there are some notable fights taking place in Tokyo tomorrow. Of those fights one has been "forgotten", that's the WBO female Minimumweight title fight between defending champion Kumiko Seeser Ikehara (6-1-2, 3) and challenger Kayoko Ebata (8-5, 4).
Yesterday the fighters took part in their medical examinations and and it was Ebata who was the taller fighter, at 161Cm, almost 5cm taller than the defending champion, however it was Ikehara with the longer reach 161cm, almost 5cm longer than the reach of Ebata.
Today the two fighters weight in and it was Ikehara who was the heavier fighter coming in just below the 105lb limit whilst Ebata has come in at career lightest 104¾lbs. That is an impressive 7lbs lighter than she was last time out, against Thailand's Petchpaya Mor Krungthepthonburi.
The fight might be the weakest of the 3 title fights tomorrow but it's still a notable one and will see Ikehara attempt to record the second defense of her title whilst Ebata will be hoping to finally claim a world title after having come up short several times in the past.
