Back in September we reported a rumour that IBF Flyweight champion Amnat Ruenreong's (16-0, 5) next defense of the IBF Flyweight title was going to come in December against Japanese fighter Myung Ho Lee (19-4-1, 6). At the time it seemed like a huge step backwards for Ruenroeng, but a stay busy defense before a potential unification bout in 2016.
Earlier today however we were informed that the bout wasn't just a rumour but was instead a bout that seems to be all but signed and sealed with the details being release,d en masse, by our Japanese sources.
Our sources hasn't been able to give us a specific date for the bout though have informed us that it will come in early December and will take place in the Hua Hin district of Thailand, on the East coast.
The bout will act as Ruenroengs's 4th defense of the IBF Flyweight and is expected to be a warm up bout prior to a potential IBF/WBC unification with Roman Gonzalez for next year. For Lee however it will be a first shot at world honours, and will actually be just his second title fight following an OPBF title fight loss to Rocky Fuentes back in 2012.
For Ruenroeng this is a low key bout after a string of impressive wins, against the likes of Fuentes, Kazuto Ioka, McJoe Arroyo, Zou Shiming and Johnriel Casimero. On paper it's his easiest bout since he started competing at the world level. For Lee it's a chance to continue a 4 fight unbeaten run, which included a draw with former world title challenger Hirofumi Mukai.
