Earlier this week we reported that a deal was close to being done for an IBF Flyweight title bout between Filipino icon Donnie Nietes (39-1-4, 22) and rising Thai hopeful Eaktawan Mor Krungthepthonburi (22-3, 15). Now it seems that deal has been signed and sealed with ALA Promotions, the team behind Nietes, confirming the bout is sorted and will take place in Cebu City on April 29th as the headline bout of Pinoy Pride 40.
Although the bout is signed and sealed between the two teams the bout hasn't yet got a set venue, with that being the final thing that ALA will sort now that they have agreed the financial terms to stage the bout in Nietes' homeland.
As previously reported the card will also feature Mark Magsayo (15-0, 11) though it appears that early speculation regarding an appearance from Jason Pagara (40-2, 25) may have been wrong, with young puncher Jeo Santisima (12-2, 11) now being linked to the card.
We're expecting a venue to be announced shortly and more details for Pinoy Pride 40 should be revealed in the coming weeks.
