As we count down to Friday's big fights there is still some formalities to go through, one of which is the preliminary medical screenings which took place earlier today.
Amongst those fighters screened were WBC Flyweight champion Akira Yaegashi (20-3, 10) and his opponent this Friday Roman Gonzalez (39-0, 33). The two men, who passed the screening with no major issues, showed nothing but respect to each other shaking hands, posing for pictures and even seeing Gonzalez hail Yaegashi as his "amigo", or "friend".
The screening showed the two fighters were physically very similar.
Yaegashi and Gonzalez weren't the only fighters screened with both Naoya Inoue (6-0, 5) and Samartlek Kokietgym (17-4, 5) also passing their screenings with no major issue ahead of their Light Flyweight world title fight.
Although Inoue, the WBC Light Flyweight champion, and his challenger both passed the medical with no problems there was a notable size difference between the two men with Samartlek looking diminutive compared to Inoue. We had expected Inoue to be bigger though we didn't expect such a big difference between the two men
