This coming Thursday fans in Tokyo will get the chance to see Phoenix Battle 55th, the next in the Ohashi promoted series of cards. The event, which is headlined by a Japanese Featherweight title defense by the heavy handed Satoshi Hosono (27-2-1, 20), will feature several notable fighters. Of course Hosono, a 3-time world title challenger, is one of those though others include former 2-weight world champion Akira Yaegashi (21-5, 11) and the fast rising Ryo Matsumoto (14-0, 12), who faces fellow world ranked fighter Luis May (17-8-1, 7).
On paper the show has real name quality, and also features a 2 round exhibition featuring former Japanese and OPBF Minimumweight champion Ryuji Hara (19-1, 11), even if the matches ups aren't all mouth watering.
Whilst fans at the Korakuen Hall will get the whole show to enjoy it's been revealed that fans not at the venue will also get the chance to saviour some of the action. That's because Fuji TV will be airing segments of the show this coming Saturday night from 2AM. Sadly however the broadcast is only set for 55 minutes which, barring a series of blow outs, means we won't be getting full footage of the 3 noteworthy bouts.
Interestingly we're also expecting to, finally, have the announcement regarding Ryuji Hara's bout with IBF Minimumweight champion Katsunari Takayama made during this event.
