Earlier today it was reported that Japanese promoter Masaru Kawashima, the chairman of the Flash Akabane Jim, has been punished for recent events at one of his shows in Tokyo.
Mr Kawashima has been hit with a ¥500,000 fine and a 6 month suspension to his promoters license, dating back to September 8th.
The incidents at the center of this punishment concern the September 8th show at Korakuen Hall, which had several ring card girls drinking in the waiting room and wandering around the venue whilst intoxicated.
The JBC have explained that the punishment is due to the situation being:
"an act that violates the guidelines for preventing the spread of the new coronavirus infection toward the resumption of boxing, and also an act that seriously undermines the social credibility of the boxing world"
Mr Kawashima is the second promoter to have been punished recently, following Hitoshi Watanabe of the Watnabe Gym who was also fined ¥500,000.
