Over the years we've had a host of boxing movies, ranging from the iconic "Rocky" series, the brilliant "The Fighter", the historic "Raging Bull", the terrible "Million Dollar Baby" and the comedically satisfying "The Great White Hype". The sport of boxing really has a cinematic history like no other, and it's a history that is not just rich with great tales, but also seems to be getting richer by the year with more, and more, and more boxing related movies being released.
One more to add to the list is "Underdog" a Japanese movie that is set to be released on November 27th in Japan.
The movie is directed by, and written by, the team that gave us the award winning "100 Yen Love", another related boxing movie.
The story seems to be based around 3 different fighters, who are all in different stages of their careers. One is an under-dog, one is a talented hopeful, and the other is an entertainer-boxer.
Although we're not too hot on Japanese cinema we are big on boxing, and it's great to see that both Osamu Sato and Shinji Takehara are involved in the movie, along with the acting cast.
We've included the trailer below for those interested, though it does seem like the movie will only be released in Japanese.
