Takano outpoints Kondo in Kariya
The third most notable bout at the Green promoted card in Kariya today saw former world title challenger Tomomi Takano (12-5, 8) [高野人母美] return to a Japanese ring for the first time in over 2 years, as she faced off with Sachiko Kondo (2-5-2) [近藤佐知子].
Whilst the bout wasn't the most competitive on paper the idea was to get Tanako back in the ring.
From the opening stages it was clear that Kondo was looking to use her lack of height as an advantage, crouching and making herself look even shorter compared to the tall and rangy Takano. It was a smart gameplan, to help her get inside, but not one that she had the ability to make the most of, and from round 2 Takano began to establish her right hand. It was mostly single shots, but it was enough to rack up the rounds establish before Kondo could began to work her way back into things in the later rounds.
After 6 rounds the judges had the bout scored 60-55, 59-56 and 58-56, all in favour of Takano, who secures a win on her Japanese ring return.

Tomorrow in Japan fans will get an interesting card, albeit a small one.
The main event of the card will see Kotatsu Takehara (15-12-3, 8) [竹原真敬] battle against Ryu Ueda (8-1-1, 5) [上田龍], with the two men looking to claim the Japanese Heavyweight title, which was vacated earlier this year by Kyotaro Fujimoto.
Ahead of the their bout, which is actually a rematch, the two big men weighed in.
On the scales Takehara was the much heavier man. He came in at 111.2KG's, which is just over 245lbs. This is one of the heaviest weights of his career and more than 14lbs heavier than he was in 2016 when he stopped Ueda in the first men between the two men.
Ueda on the other hand was 103.3KG's, or 227.7lbs, the second heaviest of his career and more than 16lbs heavier than he was in the first bout with Takehara.
Another notable bout on this card will see former world title challenger Tomomi Takano (11-5, 8) [高野人母美] fight in Japan for the first time in over 2 years, as she takes on Sachiko Kondo (2-4-2) [近藤佐知子].
Takano, who recently revealed that was an ambassador for UK sporting wear company Lonsdale, weighed in at around 111.3lbs, the same weight as Kondo.

Back in October we reported that Tomomi Takano (11-5, 8) [高野人母美] would be fighting in a Japanese ring on December 15th, her first bout in Japan in more than 2 years.
Today we were sent the full details of the bout thanks to Makoto Okaniwa., who is the a manager and matchmaker at Midori promotions.
Mr Okinawa informed us that Takano's opponent for her return to Japan will see her take on Sachiko Kondo (2-4-2) [近藤佐知子], who is ranked 4 in the JBC's female Flyweight rankings.
The 31 year old Kondo, who is a school teacher, is 1-1-1 in her last 3, and has been pretty active in 2019, with this being her 4th bout of the year.
Takano on the other hand is 32 years old and has one 1-3 in her last 4, with only a single bout in the last 12 months, and that was a 4 rounder in Mexico.
This bout, which will take place in Kariya City, is scheduled to be a 6 rounder contest.
