Uzbek amateur standout Jasurbek Latipov (0-0) has signalled his intention to make his professional boxing debut, following in the footsteps of many other top Uzbek amateurs stars in recent years.
At the moment the full details of his debut are unclear, though it seems like it will be on February 1st in Uzbekistan against a yet to be named opponent, with @HH_boxing and @JalolAkhmedov bringing the story to our attention earlier today.
Latipov was a genuine fantastic amateur winning 3 medals at the world Amateur championships, including silver medals in the 2013 and 2017 versions of the tournament, where he lost to Misha Aloyan and Yosvany Veitía respectively, and a gold at the 2017 Asian championships, where the Uzbek team picked up 9 of the 10 possible gold medals.
It's worth noting that other Uzbek's in that 2017 Asian Championship team including Hasanboy Dusmatov, Murodjon Akhmadaliev, Israil Madrimov, Shakhram Giyasov, Bakhodir Jalolov and Bektemir Melikuziev, who have all looked to be solid professionals since making their debuts in the last few years.
