Earlier today Japanese gym Kadoebi Houseki announced that former world champion Yusuke Kobori [小堀佑介] had returned to the gym where he will now begin working as a trainer.
The former WBA Lightweight champion was a professional between 2000 and 2009 and ran up an impressive record of 23-3-1 (12), whilst winning the Japanese, OPBF and WBA titles at 130lbs.
During his career scored notable wins over Dainoshin Kuma, Takashi Miura and, most famously, Jose Alfaro whilst suffering a loss in his final bout to Paulus Moses.
Between his retirement from the ring and his return to Kadoebi Kobori has been travelling the world, spending time in India, Cambodia and Canada, and has learned English. He will now be a full time trainer at the gym and will be very hands on with the fighters under his guidance, as he looks to pass on his experience.
For those who haven't seen Kobori's fantastic bout with Alfaro we have featured it below, and it really is a very exciting fight.
