Way back in July we reported that Korea Boxing Management (KBM) had announced a KBM title double header for September. Sadly the show was postponed soon after being announced due to the on going global situation.
The bouts in question were a KBM Bantamweight title bout, between In Soo Jang (5-2-1) [장인수] and Jae Hyun Jo (4-1-3, 1) [조재현], and a brilliant looking match up between Hyun Jin Moon (4-0-1, 4) [왼쪽이] and Da Won Gang (4-0, 2) [강다원], who were set to clash at 140lbs.
The Bantamweight bout looked an interesting one between two well matched youngsters who are both looking to build their names, despite both suffering losses early in their careers. It was however the 140lb clash that really had us excited, and it was regarded as a great test for the highly regarded Gang, who had been tipped as one of the very best prospects in Korea.
Sadly after the postponement was confirmed things went eerily quite on the show, which was expected to be rescheduled for October. This week however the KBM have finally announced when the show will be taking place.
The event has now been officially moved from September 20th to November 15th, with the Clean Hit Boxing Gym set to play host to the event.
At the moment the plan is for the show to be fought behind closed doors, with no fans, though the promoters are looking to allow spectators in if the situation in Korea allows in November.
Yesterday the BoxingM (KBM) announced two new titles bouts, both set for the same show in September.
One of those bouts will be a KBM Bantamweight title bout with In Soo Jang (5-2-1) [장인수] taking on Jae Hyun Jo (4-1-3, 1) [조재현] in a battle of 20 year olds. Of the two men Jang is probably the more well known, though unfortunately for him his more notable bout was from June 2019 when he was stopped in a round by Japan's Suzumi Takayama. Jo on the other hand began his career 0-1-3 but since that weird start to his professional career he has reeled off 4 straight wins.
The other title fight will be at 140lbs and is a much more attractive one.
The will see unbeaten puncher Hyun Jin Moon (4-0-1, 4) [왼쪽이] take on touted youngster Da Won Gang (4-0, 2) [강다원].
Moon began his career in 2018 and has shown solid power, with all 4 wins coming by stoppage. The only man to see the final bell with him was Hwang Kook Je, who took him 6 rounds in February 2019. Gang on the other hand debuted in May 2019, won the Battle Royal in November and then earned a shot at the Korean title this past January when he stopped Jin Su Kim in a title eliminator.
The bouts will take place on September 20th, with an under-card and TV, or streaming, details expected to be announced to the event.
