Earlier this week Kadoebi revealed their latest signing, Koyo Nakagawa [中川 晃洋], who is expected to make his professional debut in 2020.
Nakagawa is a Lightweight hopeful who went 30-15 in the amateur ranks, but the 23 year old youngster is tipped to make a real name for himself, combining his skills, and his playful and friendly personality. That personality was shown in a short training clip Kadoebi released as well as his Kadoebi profile, in which he admits his hobby is "人をいじること" [Hito o ijiru koto], which essentially messing with people. Given the gym he's in that should see him and Yukinori Oguni getting on well with both seeming to be practical jokers.
Standing at a little over 6' Nakagawa is a tall Lightweight and will likely have significant reach and size over opponents on the domestic stage. It might take a whilst for him to fully make the most of those tools but with Kadoebi behind him he does have the chance to work with excellent trainers and spar with very solid professional fighters.
Interestingly Nakagawa has signed to a gym that has former amateur rival Jinu Lee (1-0, 1), who made his debut in August. It seems that whilst the two men won't fight they will both be rivals in the professional ranks, and we suspect the two youngsters will be looking to out do each other at every opportunity going forward.
