SIBONGA,CEBU,PHILIPPINES- John Paul Gabunilas (7-1,5KO's) was overeager in trying to score a knockout against Ricardo Sueno (10-6-4,3KO's) , but Sueno took everything Gabunilas had to offer. The ten rounder turned into a rough and tumble affair with Sueno even getting a point deduction for rabbit punches. Gabunilas still prevailed by a wide margin.
The scores from the judges – Neil Papas- 97-92, Rafael Osumo – 98-91, Edward Ligas – 100-89.
April Jay Abne (9-1,5KO's) had an easy time against Arnold Garde (10-13-3,4KO’s), dropping him twice in the opening round. Another knockdown in the second made referee Nic Banal call a halt at the 1:53 mark.
Bryan James Wild (8-0,6KO’s) remained unbeaten and won by unanimous decision against Jason Dogelio (10-7,3KO’s). Rodex Piala (5-0) also got a unanimous verdict against Ivor Lastrilla (12-11-1,7KO’s). ,Ian Paul Abne (6-04KO’s) also beat Ronald Ewican (5-4,2KO’s) by unanimous decision.
For the other results - Mark Sales decided not to continue before the start of the third round against Rodel Wenceslao.
Berland Robles won by unanimous decision against Reymark Alicaba ,Brix Piala earned a unanimous nod against Jay-ar Aliasot , Ramel Macado stopped Juvab Lucas in four rounds and Yeroge Gura beat Vincent Bautista by unanimous decision after six rounds.
All the winning boxers are promoted by ARQ Promotions.
The fights were held at the Bonifacio R. Bacaltos Sports and Cultural Center in the southern town of Sibonga in the central Philippine island of Cebu.

CEBU CITY,PHILIPPINES – Bryan James Wild kept his clean sheet by stopping Margarito Moya in front of a very animated crowd at the Barangay Apas Sports Complex in Lahug, Cebu City.
Moya tried to make a fight out of it in early going and made Wild exert a lot of effort. But in the fourth, the southpaw Wild began to connect hard lefts in succession. In the fifth round, Wild launced a torrid offensive and eventually sent Moya to the canvas. He got up and still turned his back to the referee who called a halt at the 1: 24 mark.
The junior featherweight Wild is now 5-0,4KO’s. Moya (9-11,3KO’s) drops to his eleventh loss. This served as the main event of a six bout card promoted by Wild Boxing Promotions.
Another hot prospect, Criztian Pitt Laurente delivered a hard fought unanimous decision against the more experienced Boyce Sultan in a six rounder. Laurente peppered Sultan with shots to the body and head but Sultan proved durable and heard the final bell. The scores were 59-55 twice and 60-54.
The junior lightweight Laurente is now 5-0,3KO’s while Sultan drops to 10-13-1,5KO’s.
In 2016, Laurente was chosen as the best junior amateur boxer in Asia. The best performance of his amateur career was a bronze medal at the 2018 AIBA World Youth Championships. Sultan has faced local prospects like Ralph Lulu, Tomjune Mangubat and Jeo Santisima.
For the rest of the bouts – Maurino Agum beat Rolien Getalada by TKO in round two. A flurry of punches sent Getalada down hard on the canvas. He remained conscious but was attended to by medical personnel at ringside before he got up and left the ring on his own two feet. Christopher Caburog won by unanimous decision against Joshua Unabia, Kenneth dela Pena beat Anthony Tunacao by unanimous decision and Jimpol Dignos beat Miguel Semblante who did not answer the bell for the second round.
