Earlier today in Fukuoka fight fans had the chance to see debutant Kazuhiro Imamura (1-0, 1) [今村 和寛] kick off his career in impressive fashion, as he stopped Fumiaki Sueyoshi (5-3, 4) [末吉 史明] in round 3.
Imamura, who fought 52 amateur bouts, attacked the body well from the opening round. Sueyoshi, to his credit, tried to press the action, but Imamura managed land straight right hands.
In round 3 the pressure of Sueyoshi proved to be his own downfall, with Imamura landing a fantastic combination to drop his man, forcing the referee to stop the bout.
Although not an amateur stand out, going 32-20 in the unpaid ranks, Imamura looked like a very capable prospect and will be worth following.
