Today attention has turned to the Philippines to begin the day with Filipino channel ESPN5 showing the card on their Youtube channel.
The broadcast began with youngster Rolando Servania (8-0, 3) continuing his perfect start ,as he out pointed Southpaw foe Arnel Caoctoy (6-7-1, 2) over 6 rounds. Servania was the clear winner, though did drop a round to his more experienced foe. Servania, who holds a notable decision win over Jonas Sultan from back in 2013, was fighting for just the second time in 5 years. As for Caoctoy he was fighting for the first time since May 2017, and is win-less since September 2015.
A second man who stretched his unbeaten run was Jerven Mama (9-0-1, 5)*, though he had to work hard against the determined Mervin Lulu (5-5-2, 2). Mama looked the better fighter for the most part, but he was shaken badly at the end of round 2, as Lulu landed a number of heavy shots in the final seconds, to steal the round. Lulu also started round 5 really aggressively, and made Mama hold on early but was hurt himself in an exciting round. Lulu was also hurt late in the 6th, and final, round as Mama looked to close the show in the dying moments of a very entertaining, if some what crude, contest.
Promising puncher Presco Carcosia (4-0-1, 4) moved up a level in his bout, as he took on the experienced Renerio Arizala (13-8-3, 5) in an 8 round bout. Prior to this contest Carcosia had fought just 5 professional rounds and his inexperience was shown up by Arizala at times, with Arizala landing good body shots in the second round. The unbeaten man did however show some good skills in the middle rounds of the fight. Despite looking like a pure puncher on paper Carcosia showed a good boxing brain, realising he wasn't going to blast Arizala out he began to fight on the counter and create space, showing quite a few wrinkles to his game. Sadly for Carcosia he was cut, from an accidental headclash at the end of round 6, and it seemed to bother him late on. In the end the judges rendered a draw, a fair result, though likely a disappointing one for Carcosia who perhaps needed a bit more seasoning before taking on someone as experienced as Arizala.
