SIBONGA,CEBU,PHILIPPINES- John Paul Gabunilas (7-1,5KO's) was overeager in trying to score a knockout against Ricardo Sueno (10-6-4,3KO's) , but Sueno took everything Gabunilas had to offer. The ten rounder turned into a rough and tumble affair with Sueno even getting a point deduction for rabbit punches. Gabunilas still prevailed by a wide margin.
The scores from the judges – Neil Papas- 97-92, Rafael Osumo – 98-91, Edward Ligas – 100-89.
April Jay Abne (9-1,5KO's) had an easy time against Arnold Garde (10-13-3,4KO’s), dropping him twice in the opening round. Another knockdown in the second made referee Nic Banal call a halt at the 1:53 mark.
Bryan James Wild (8-0,6KO’s) remained unbeaten and won by unanimous decision against Jason Dogelio (10-7,3KO’s). Rodex Piala (5-0) also got a unanimous verdict against Ivor Lastrilla (12-11-1,7KO’s). ,Ian Paul Abne (6-04KO’s) also beat Ronald Ewican (5-4,2KO’s) by unanimous decision.
For the other results - Mark Sales decided not to continue before the start of the third round against Rodel Wenceslao.
Berland Robles won by unanimous decision against Reymark Alicaba ,Brix Piala earned a unanimous nod against Jay-ar Aliasot , Ramel Macado stopped Juvab Lucas in four rounds and Yeroge Gura beat Vincent Bautista by unanimous decision after six rounds.
All the winning boxers are promoted by ARQ Promotions.
The fights were held at the Bonifacio R. Bacaltos Sports and Cultural Center in the southern town of Sibonga in the central Philippine island of Cebu.

CEBU,PHILIPPINES- John Paul Gabunilas and Maurino Agum engaged in an entertaining bout that capped the seven bout card held at the Cosonsa compound in Mandaue City,Cebu.
Agum was cut on the left eyelid in the early going. But he managed to surprise and drop Gabunillas. They would go on to trade heavy shots.
At the start of the second, Gabunilas stormed back and knocked down Agum. Heavy exchanges continued but Gabunilas was the more accurate fighter. In the third, Gabunillas’ jab targeted Agum’s cut.Agum swung for the fences but could not connect.
In the fourth round, a right to the ribs sent Agum down again. He got up but with his left eyelid bleeding,this time due to a second cut,the fight was stopped.
Gabunilas is now 4-1,3KO’s,Agum suffered his first loss at 2-1,1KO.
April Jay Abne (6-0,3KO’s) remained unbeaten when he stopped Royder Lloyd Borbon (6-10-1,6KO’s) in the third round with a body punch. Referee Nic Banal signaled the end at the 36 second mark.
Rexcar Auxilio spoiled the pro debut of Zandro Librador by scoring the unanimous decision victory. Scores by the judges- Edgar Olalo-40-36, Raffy Osumo-39-37, Edward Ligas – 39-37.
For the rest of the card -Ian Abne knocked out Marvin Campo in the opening round, Rodex Piala beat Vicente Casido by majority decision, Yeroge Gura won by unanimous decision over Steven Noblefranca and Christopher Caburog beat Arniel Cañete by split decision,scores- Raffy Osumo-39-37 for Canete, Edwin Barrientos and Edgar Olalo had it 39-37 for Caburog.

CEBU,PHILIPPINES- Non-title bouts and up and comers will be showcased this Saturday June 19 in Cebu. April Jay Abne (5-0,2KO’s), will risk his unbeaten record against Royder Lloyd Borbon (6-9-1,6KO’s) in the featured bout. The 22 year old Abne made a splash two years ago when he ruled the flyweight category of the boxing tournament/reality show “Ultimate Boxing Series” promoted by Gerrypens Promotions.
Abne was at 115lbs while Borbon weighed 110.8lbs during Friday’s weigh-in.
The fights will be held at the Cosonsa compound in Mandaue City.
Also tipped to make waves is Zandro Librador, who will make his pro debut by facing Rexcar Auxilio. Librador stepped on the scales at 125.6lbs while Auxilio was at 126.4lbs.
Rounding up the matches are superfyweights Ian Abne vs Marvin Campo, flyweights John Paul Gabunillas vs Maurino Agum, superfeatherweights Rodex Piala vs Vicente Casido,superflyweights Yeroge Gura vs Steven Noblefranca and miniflyweights Arniel Cañete vs Christopher Caburog.
