Having recently discovered than Mexican Abner Mares (26-1-1, 14) wants no part of him, Takashi Miura (27-2-2, 20) has already moved on and is reported to already be in negotiations for an alternative bout.
Although Miura is clearly losing out on the publicity of fighting on a Mayweather under-card he will seemingly be happy to fight sooner rather than later and rather than waste time mulling over what could have been he has already moved on to option B.
Sadly we're unaware of who option B is for Miura though it seems likely to be a "gimme" defense in Japan before we finally get the long awaited rematch between Miura, the WBC Super Featherweight champion, and Takashi Uchiyama, the WBA champion.
We hope to bring you more information on Miura's next move when when we get it though from the reports we've gotten it sounds likely that we'll find out sooner rather than later.
