A couple of days ago we were given a heads up the Irish bookmakers Paddy Power had began to take bets on the upcoming Flyweight dream fight between WBC champion Akira Yaegashi (20-3, 10) and unbeaten Nicaraguan sensation Roman Gonzalez (39-0, 33).
At the moment the only market available is the "To win" market which opened with Gonzalez as the favourite, priced at 8/15 a solid price for the fight, and one we'll be taking a nibble on. Yaegashi on the other hand is 6/4 to win against Gonzalez whilst he draw is currently prices at 22/1.
Whilst the betting is available we'd expect more markets to open by the start of September with "Method of Victory" and "Total rounds" almost certainly added. In fact we'd be very shocked if Paddy Power were the only ones with a market available come fight time.
At the moment not only are the markets on the fight very limited but there are no markets available on any of he other bouts on the show, including those featuring WBC Light Flyweight champion Naoya Inoue (6-0, 5) or Olympic champion Ryota Murata (4-0, 4). Hopefully both of those bouts will have odds made available come fight time.
