Sometimes we know a bout has been made weeks before it is officially announced. One such bout was announced this morning despite the fact it was boxing's worst kept secret.
That bout will see WBA Flyweight champion Kazuto Ioka (18-1, 10) defending his belt against former champion Juan Carlos Reveco (36-2, 19), in what will be a rematch of their competitive bout from back in April. As expected it will take place in Osaka, at the EDION Arena Osaka, and will be on New Years Eve with TBS televising the bout.
The contest has been ordered by the WBA who demanded that the men to fight in a rematch following a protest filed by Reveco's team after their first bout, which was won by Ioka with a majority decision. The complaint, filed from Reveco's team, seems to have bee a good one for both men who will likely generate a good pay day here just like they did in their first bout, and it should also be a bout that pleases TBS who were disappointed with the figures for Ioka's latest bout.
At the moment this bout has been one of three announced for the card.
Another of those title bouts will see OPBF Bantamweight champion Takahiro Yamamoto (16-4, 13) defending his title against Yuki Strong Kobayashi (9-4, 5) whilst Japanese Super Flyweight champion Sho Ishida (20-0, 10) will be putting his title on the line against Ryuta Otsuka (15-8-2, 5).
