Last week we reported that Ayaka Miyao (18-5-1, 3) would be defending her WBA Atomweight title against the once beaten Filipino Jessebelle Pagaduan (6-1, 4) on October 25th. We have since been informed that Miyao's opponent for the fight will not be Pagaduan as originally reported. Instead the Filipino has been replaced by Satomi Nishimura (7-1, 1), a fighter who will be competing in her second title bout, following a loss to Saemi Hanagata in an OPBF Minimumweight title bout.
This was officially announced earlier today by Ohashi Gym who also issued the the poster for the show, "Phoenix Battle 51".
Although the opponent has changed all other details regarding the bout remain as they were and as originally reported the bout will take place on October 25th and it will take place at the Chikuma Tokura gymnasium in Nagano. This will be the first time Miyao will be fighting in the area where she was born.
At the moment we're awaiting full details on the under-card though we suspect they that it will be announced very shortly. We know some of the names on it, but at the moment there are some bouts that we've not had fully confirmed.
Of course for Ohashi Gym this is one of two notable cards in October with the other one coming just 6 days later and seeing the unbeaten Ryuji Hara defending his OPBF Minimumweight title against rising superstar Kosei Tanaka. Of the two shows we know which one we're more excited about.
