Late last week one of our sources informed us that there was a strong rumour that WBA Atomweight champion Ayaka Miyao (18-5-1, 3) would be defending her world title in October. At the time the rumour was relatively lacking in terms of details though just a few hours ago we had everything revealed to us courtesy of Ohashi Gym who released all the information about the bout.
Ohashi stated that Miyao would be defending her world title on October 25th at "Phoenix Battle 51". The bout will see Miyao battle against once beaten Filipino Jessebelle Pagaduan (6-1, 4), who will be best known to Japanese fans as the woman beaten by Nao Ikeyama back in July for the WBO Atomweight title.
At the moment we've not yet been informed of the complete under-card though our source has stated that Nitta gym's Akira Ono (4-3, 1) will be battling against Shogo Sumitomo (5-6, 4) in a 6 round bout at Bantamweight.
From what we under-stand this will be one of two Ohashi cards in late October with the other being the very exciting contest between OPBF Minimumweight champion Ryuji Hara (18-0, 10) and rising super prospect Kosei Tanaka (3-0, 1) booked for October 31st. At the moment details of that under-card are more more interesting with Seiichi Okada (18-5, 11), Toru Suzuki (23-4, 7), Junpei Hara (14-5-2, 9) and Yoshimichi Matsumoto (6-1, 5) all booked for that undercard.
We hope to bring you more details on this show as we get them which will hopefully be sooner rather than later.
