A couple of weeks ago we reported that there was a speculated date of June 27th for the IBF Flyweight title bout between unbeaten Thai champion Amnat Ruenroeng (15-0, 5) and mandatory challenger Johnriel Casimero (21-2, 13), of the Philippines.
We can now confirm that the bout will take place on June 27th and, as speculated, it will take place in Bangkok with the venue now set as the Indoor Stadium Huamark in Bangkok on June 27.
According to Wikipedia the venue was built in 1966 and seats 15,000 people, a great attendance for such an interesting looking match up. Not only is it a great attendance but a crowd that size will have intimidating effect on anyone, even a well traveled road warrior like Casimero.
This will be Amant's 4th title defense and his 2nd mandatory as he attempts to continue his excellent run of results, which has already seen him defeat Kazuto Ioka and Zou Shiming. As for Casimero the bout give him a chance to become a 2-weight world champion, however with the bout being in Thailand he's genuinely up against it here.
At the moment no details have been revealed about the under-card though we would suspect that Kiatkreerin will be putting on a strong card featuring at least one other bout of note.
We would like to say a huge thanks to Pal for informing us of the venue for this bout.
