Earlier today Kyoei held a press conference in Tokyo to talk about the future of two female fighters.
A lot of the press conference focused on WBC female Minimumweight champion Yuko Kuroki (15-4-1, 7) [黒木優子]. It's now known that Kyoei will act as the promoter for the champion and will be looking to be involved in her career going forward. The role is similar in many ways to their deals with the likes of Shingo Wake [和氣 慎吾] and Hisashi Amagasa [天笠 尚], and should give Kuroki the chance to be involved in more notable shows with better backing.
Staying with Kuroki it was also confirmed that she would be in the ring in June to make the 4th defense of her title, though at the moment there is no set date, opponent or venue for the bout.
What is known is that on the under-card fans will see former world title challenger Tomomi Takano (8-2, 5) [高野人母美] make her return to the ring. Takano was last seen in in November, when she was stopped by Daniela Romina Bermudez in a bout for the WBO Super Flyweight title.
Staying with Takano, the press conference also stated that she will be throwing the ceremonial first pitch at an upcoming Japanese baseball came.
