Earlier today saw the start of an Okinawa based training camp for a trio of Teiken promoted world champions.
The champions in question were WBC Light Flyweight champion Yu Kimura (18-2-1, 3), who is preparing for his first defenses expected in March, WBC Bantamweight champion Shinsuke Yamanaka (24-0-2, 17), who is also expected back in action in March, and WBC Lightweight champion Jorge Linares (40-3, 27), who is putting final touches to an agreement to face Dejan Zlaticanin in the US.
The camp will see men working on their fitness and strengthening their cores before returning to Tokyo later in the month to begin sparring and working on game plans for their upcoming bouts, which, in the case of Kimura and Yamanaka, are likely to be announced either very late this month or very early February.
For all the men this is a return to Okinawa where Teiken regularly send their fighters for training camps.
