Earlier today we were informed that former world title challenger Tomomi Takano (8-2, 5) [高野人母美] had vacated the OPBF female Super Bantamweight title. Although the reason for Takano's decision was unclear it does sound like there will be some big news breaking in regards to her future in the coming weeks, with some speculation being that she will have a second world title fight later this year.
Sadly for Ayumi Goto (5-0, 4) [後藤あゆみ], the #1 contender for the title, it does seem that she will have to wait for a big name fight. However the dark cloud has a silver lining and the reports are suggesing that Goto will have a shot at the vacant title, with an opponent and date for that bout to be announced in the near future.
Although Goto had long stated that she would want to fight Takano for the OPBF title it may be that the two, some how, end up clashing later in the year for a world title. If that happens then it'll be fair to say that Goto won't be too annoyed at missing out on facing Takano for the regional belt.
