On Saturday Japanese fans and media had the chance to see Brazilian Middleweight contender Douglas Damiao Ataide (13-1-1, 6) take part in a public training session ahead of his anticipated Middleweight showdown with 2012 Olympic gold medal winner Ryota Murata (6-0, 4).
The session saw Ataide, who is known as "The Good Boy", didn't give much away about his style as he hit the mitts and the bag but did show nice speed and was incredibly quiet.
According to a member of his team who was at the training session Ataide is usually a quiet person, hence his nickname, though when he gets in the ring he can be a "Bad Boy" and fight with a lot of heart if needed, even being compared to a Samurai. Other comments from Ataide's team suggest that this was a big chance for their man to make a name for himself around the globe and prove that Brazil can develop really good fighters as well as football players.
