Earlier today Japan's bigger promoter Teiken announced their latest world title show, a double header set for March 4th at Shimazu Arena, in Kyoto City.
The most notable of those bouts comes at Bantamweight where long reigning WBC champion Shinsuke Yamanaka (24-0-2, 17) [山中 慎介] will defend his title against former WBA Super Flyweight champion Liborio Solis (22-3-1, 10), of Venezuela. This will be Yamanaka's 10th defense of the title and sees him going up against the #3 ranked WBC challenger.
Interestingly this will be Solis' third bout in Japan following his wins over Kohei Kono, in a thriller in May 2013, and a Daiki Kameda, in a controversial bout in December 2013. The winner of this will be mandated to face the winner of the up coming eliminator between Suriyan Sor Rungvisai [สุริยัน ศ.รุ่งวิสัย] and Anselmo Moreno.
The other bout will be the first defense of the WBC Light Flyweight title by Yu Kimura (18-2-1, 3) [木村 悠], who will be going up against Mexican puncher Ganigan Lopez (26-6, 17). For Kimura this will be his first bout since winning the title last year, with a shock victory over Pedro Guevara, whilst Lopez will be getting his second shot inside a year, following a loss last year to Guevara.
For those interested in watch Yamanaka will be aired on NTV whilst the under-card, including Kimura, will be on NTV +.
