We may still be awaiting specifics on their return to the ring, which is pencilled in for May, but yesterday we saw the Inoue brothers, WBO Super Flyweight champion Naoya (9-0, 8) [井上 尚弥] and OPBF Super Flyweight champion Takuma (6-0, 1) [井上 拓真], take part in a celebration event.
The event was attended by around 350 people with both fighters, and the team around them, speaking about their future plans and their current training.
It was noted that Naoya had been sparring with a Japanese ranked Featherweight contest, Takuya Watanabe (27-6-1, 13) [渡邊卓也], and that he was working towards his next defense, the May bout against mandatory challenger David Carmona (20-2-5, 8).
Given the shape the Ohashi team were in, including the touted Koki Inoue (1-0, 1) [浩樹井上] and current IBF Light Flyweight world champion Akira Yaegashi (23-5, 12) [八重樫 東] it would seem like an announcement in regards to the next major Ohashi show is just around the corner.
