Earlier today WBA world champions Takashi Uchiyama (23-0-1, 19) and Ryoichi Taguchi (22-2-1, 9) visited the Shinagawa ward offices to see the local Mayor and celebrate recent world titles defenses.
For Taguchi, the WBA Light Flyweight champion, this was his second official visit in recent days following a recent visit to see Tadayoshi Matsubara, the Mayor of Ota city. Unlike the previous visit Taguchi's team didn't really discuss the future though the young champion did soak in the atmosphere.
As for Uchiyama, the Super Featherweight "super" champion, he managed to share some details on his recent surgery, and the good news is that the elbow appears to be healing up well. He's not yet practicing for his next bout but the news is that he will be able to resume gym work shortly.
