On September 22nd we will get the chance to see WBC Bantamweight champion Shinsuke Yamanaka (23-0-2, 17) defend his belt against fantastic Panamanian Anselmo Moreno (35-3-1, 12) in a really mouth watering match up.
With that bout now less than a month away Yamanaka has upped his training and today he took part in his first 10 round spar, sharing the ring with WBO #1 ranked Marlon Tapales (27-2, 10) and Mark Anthony Geraldo (31-6-3, 14).
Following the spar Yamanaka stated that his focus was now on making weight for the bout with the key training being more about polishing his tools than learning anything new in the next few weeks. Of course Moreno is a tricky customer, however preparing for the former WBA champion seems to have been the focus of his training so far, and a shift in focus seems to be a good idea for the next few weeks.
For fans wanting to watch this one it will be aired on NTV, and we'll have more details on the broadcast specifics closer to the time.
