Earlier today at the Teiken gym in Tokyo fans and the media had the chance to see Japanese star Ryota Murata (6-0, 4) take part in a public training session ahead of his upcoming bout against WBO world ranked Brazilian Douglas Damiao Ataide (13-1-1, 6).
The training session included a 3 round spar between Murata and former foe, and now regular sparring partner, Adrian Luna Flores as well as some pad work.
As well as the training session Murata also held a press conference which saw him talking about his hopes for the year, which included him revealing that he was hoping to get a world title fight before the end of the year. He will however have to get past Ataide who is a genuinely good test for Murata.
Staying on the subject of Ataide it's been revealed that there was message in the hotel where visitor is staying, welcoming the Brazilian to Japan with the message "Welcome to Japan". Unfortunately the message was in English and Ataide didn't understand it with him being a native Portuguese speaker. Something that appeared to have risen a smile from the Japanese fighter.
