Earlier today WBC Light Flyweight champion Pedro Guevara (26-1-1, 17) took part in a public training session ahead of his bout, at the weekend, against Japanese challenger Yu Kimura (17-2-1, 3).
The talented Mexican looked very sharp on the mitts whilst doing his work out and also appeared to be his intelligent and down to earth self whilst talking to the media.
The champion seemed to suggest that he wasn't going to hunt for a knockout against Kimura but if one came it came. He also spoke of his left hook to the body being his favourite punch whilst showing respect to the Japanese fans, who have welcomed him back for the first time since he won the title, by stopping local favourite Akira Yaegashi.
It also seemed clear that he had sone some research on Kimura, saying that the challenger was fast and clever, though as we all know Kimura is certainly no threat in terms of his power.
The bout, which takes place on WOWOW at the weekend, is expected to be Guevara's 3rd successful defense, though Kimura has himself looked confident as he goes for one of the year's biggest upsets.
