On May 21st we'll see WBO Super Flyweight champion Naoya Inoue (12-0, 10) [井上 尚弥] defending his title as he takes on Ricardo Rodriguez (16-3, 5).
Yesterday, as part of Inoue's training, he began a new mini camp along side world ranked brother Takuma Inoue (8-0, 2) [井上 拓真] and cousin Koki Inoue (6-0, 5) [浩樹井上].
The mini camp is based on strength and conditioning and it seems clear that Inoue is looking to improve his phyicality ahead of a potential move to Bantamweight later in the year.
From quotes given to the media the key to the training camp is to help Inoue land faster and heavier punches. It seems like the already destructive youngster is wanting to become even more destructive.
Interesting little is known about Takuma's next step and he is still not listed as being in action in May, suggesting that his current injury is more serious than first assumed and could be keeping him out of the ring until much later in the year.
