Tomorrow's bout between world ranked Middleweights Ryota Murata (6-0, 4) and Douglas Damiao Ataide (13-1-1, 6) was made at a contract of 162lbs a weight that both men comfortably made earlier today in Tokyo.
The heavier of the two men was Murata, who came in at the heaviest weight of his career so far, 161¾lbs. Whilst it is heavier than he has been before it's the same sort of range that he has been in recent fights with his typical weight being around 161½lbs. Amazingly he has never yet weighed in on the Middleweight limit.
The once beaten Brazilian was slightly lighter at 161lbs, which is a full 1lb heavier than he was in his most recent bout, a 12 round split decision draw with compatriot John Anderson Cavalho back in November. Incidentally this is the heaviest recorded weight we have for the Brazilian boxer mover.
Whilst both men made the weight they also both looked in good condition with Murata looking particularly relaxed.
