On December 31st we'll see a number of world title bouts taking place in Japan. One of those is a WBO Light Flyweight title bout as Kosei Tanaka (7-0, 4) [田中恒成] battles Mexican Moises Fuentes (24-2-1, 13) for the vacant title.
Today, ahead of the bout, Fuentes set off for Japan and was seen at the airport with his family and wife.
The fighter didn't seem too worried about fighting in the Land of the Rising Sun and views himself as having a 50-50 chance against Tanaka. He seemed to be aware of Tanaka's amateur pedigree, and his quick rise through the professional ranks, but seemed as if he feels his professional experience will be the key when the two men trade blows.
Despite Fuentes's confidence of the bout being a 50-50 contest it is worth noting that Tanaka is a 4/7 betting favourite at the moment and does have home advantage, which cane mean a lot especially against a fighter who has had to sacrifice Christmas away from home.
