On Wednesday Japanese youngster Kosei Tanaka (5-0, 1) was given the honour of throwing the ceremonial first pitch at a baseball game in Nagoya.
The WBO Minimumweight champion, who impressively claimed his title in just his 5th professional bout, was wearing the #5 as a reference to his Japanese national record, for the fewest fights to a world title.
From what we understand the youngster was asked about his first defense and said that a date hasn't yet been set though we have been hearing murmurs that it's likely to come in October of November. Of course with no date yet set there is also no set opponent, though we have been told that there is a number of interesting options, one of which is IBF champion Katsunari Takayama (29-7-0-1, 11).
