According to sources in Thailand we will see WBA Minimumweight champion Knockout CP Freshmart (13-0, 6) [น็อคเอาท์ ซีพีเฟรชมาร์ท] return to the ring on December 14th to make the first defense oif the WBA Minimumweight title, the title he won earlier this year when he beat Byron Rojas back in June.
The talented Thai, who had previously defended the interim title 3 times, will be staying busy in his next defense as he takes on 2-time former title challenger Go Odaira (12-5-3, 1) [大平 剛], from Japan, in Nakhon Ratchasima.
For Knockout its a third bout this year and keeps him active following wins over Carlos Buitrago in February and Rojas in June, with those two wins strengthening his claim to be regarded as the best in the division. Sadly though it looks like a huge step backwards with Odaira having been stopped in previous world title bouts against Katsunari Takayama, in 7 rounds, and Wanheng Menayothin, in 5 rounds.
Whilst it's a straight forward defense on paper for Knockout it does keep him active and allows him to make up for the disappointment of missing out on a Ryuji Hara fight earlier this year.
