According to ESPN reporter Salvador Rodriguez a deal has been struck for Japanese and OPBF Light Flyweight champion Ken Shiro (9-0, 5) [拳 四朗] t face WBC champion Ganigan Lopez (28-6, 17) in late May.
The bout was mooted in early February but seemed to go quiet as Lopezwas linked to an April show in Mexico, which he appears to be no longer involved on. As a result of Lopez not being on the April card it seems his team and that at the BMB gym, which manages Ken Shiro, have reached a deal to battle in May.
At the moment it's unclear whether the bout will force Ken Shiro to pull our of a scheduled April 2nd clash with Tetsuya Hisada (27-9-2, 17) [久田 哲也], or whether his team believes he can have both bouts in the space of about 8 weeks. An announcement in regards to that will likely be made in the coming days from Ken Shiro's team.
