Tomorrow Asian boxing fans get a treat as the unbeaten pairing of Ken Shiro (4-0, 3) and Rolly Sumalpong (9-0-1, 4) face off in a bout for the WBC Youth Light Flyweight title. Today saw the two men come face to face, and each feel the belt, as they took part in their official weigh in for tomorrow's bout.
At the weigh in both men came in a little over 107¼lbs, well inside the 108lb divisional limit.
For the Filipino fighter this was his second heaviest weight, though was lighter than he was last time out, when he came in at 108lbs to face Lowell Saguisa back in August. For Ken Shiro it was his second lightest, just above the 107lbs that he weight in at last time out, when he stopped Takeshi Omae in 4 rounds.
Although the bout is only for a Youth title it's a bout that really has interested us and we're expecting a really intriguing contest, though one we're expecting to see Ken Shiro win before advancing to either the OPBF or a JBC title later in the year.
