It's fair to say that Tuesday has been a busy day for Japanese boxing news. There was, of course, a huge show in Tokyo, but there's also been medicals taking place in Osaka ahead of a double world title show on New Year's Eve.
One of the bouts on that card is the WBA Flyweight title bout between Kazuto Ioka (18-1, 10) and Juan Carlos Reveco (36-2, 19).
At the medical we didn't really discover too much new. As with their first bout, earlier this year, Ioka will be the taller and longer man.
Whilst there was nothing too notable about the men's measurements there was something telling in Reveco's demeanour, with the Argentinian visitor seeming rather "off" and unhappy. He seemed unable to even feign interest in the event and it seems like the issues at his public work out, where he worked out for just a few minutes, are still effecting him ahead of the coming bout.
Although it's not yet been confirmed there is suspicion from some corners that Reveco has under-trained and is possibly going to fail to make weight tomorrow. Again that is just a suspicion but it has been clear over the past few days that there is something "off" about the former champion.
